RE-CHECK YOUR DOCUMENTS: Make sure names on documents match names on the signer IDs. If your documents require witnesses, you must provide and make sure they too have proper ID. Make sure each document to be notarized contains proper notarial language. EXAMPLE
VALID GOVERNMENT-ISSUED PHOTO IDENTIFICATION IS REQUIRED.
I must be able to identify each signer. All signers must be present in person with a valid, unexpired approved form of government-issued photo ID to the Notary Public. Photocopies of IDs are not sufficient. All forms of ID must be the original, physical document. You must take your ID out of your wallet for me. I must hold your original valid ID in my hand to inspect it. ID cards which are falling apart, illegible, damaged or appear to have been tampered with are not accepted. You must provide another form of government-issued photo ID.
For general notary work, my job is to verify the signer's ID, confirm the signer's willingness and understanding to sign, administer any oaths, witness signatures on the document, perform notarizations and then leave. I do not render advice or opinions (do not ask) and I am not responsible for your document's content errors or veracity.
➤ Your documents must be filled out by YOU in advance, no blanks (except for signatures). Any witness statement must be filled out by your witnesses, not by the notary. If you need assistance filling out any of your documents, you must ask a friend or family member to assist you or a licensed attorney. I am prohibited. (Do not fill in any of the Notarial Certificates! Leave that for the notary to complete when you meet.)
➤ Your document must have correct notarial language and sufficient space for a notary stamp to be applied. The notary cannot stamp over words.
➤ WAIT TO SIGN. For verifications upon oath or affirmation and witness signatures, you must wait until you are physically in front of your notary, so the notary may watch you sign and date after you have been sworn/affirmed.
➤ ALL SIGNERS (including any witnesses) must be present with a valid government-issued photo ID. Make sure the names on signer IDs match the names listed on your documents.
➤ ALL SIGNERS (including any witnesses) must sign notary journal and affirmatively swear or affirm to the notary: That they are who they claim to be in their government-issued photo ID, that they are the person named in the document and are signing as a free and voluntary act, they understand the purpose of the document, and/or that any statements they are making in the document are true and correct to the best of their knowledge.
GENERAL NOTARY PUBLIC WORK DOES NOT INVOLVE DOCUMENT HANDLING. You should already have your document prepared and ready for me to notarize when I arrive. IF YOU REQUIRE ME TO HANDLE YOUR DOCUMENTS in addition to performing your notarizations, that is an additional cost and must be discussed and arranged in advance. "Document Handling" is where you require me to receive, print, transport, hand-deliver, scan, email, photocopy, and/or ship your notarized documents with tracking via FedEx or UPS, etc . Document handling fees and loan signing services start at $150 to $550+ depending on travel distance, notarizations, and page count. A prepaid FedEx or UPS return shipping label must be provided by you. If one is not provided, I can ship it for you within the U.S. at an additional charge. A physical U.S. shipping address must be provided for FedEx and UPS.
NOTARY SERVICES I DO NOT PROVIDE: I do not provide any jail notary services, I-9 employment eligibility verification, Apostilles or Certificates of Authentication, or FBI clearance letters. Notaries are prohibited from transcribing or certifying transcripts of court hearings or legal proceedings -- you must contact the court reporter. I do not speak Spanish. If you require a Spanish speaking notary, contact Margarita Nuños (408) 712-3049. No hablo español. Si necesita un notario que hable español, por favor contacte a Margarita Nuños (408) 712-3049.
DOCUMENT WITNESSES ARE 100% YOUR RESPONSIBILITY: If your document requires witnesses to sign, you must provide the witnesses and ensure they too have valid unexpired government-issued photo ID. Please read RCW 11.125.050 regarding Power of Attorney—Requirements.
NOTARY LOCATION REQUIREMENTS: If I am required to travel to your location, we need a well-lit, well-ventilated workspace with a table large enough to hold your paperwork so we can both sign comfortably. A dining room table is ideal if we are signing at your home. The table should be cleared off and must have a flat, smooth surface to help ensure the notary stamp will make a legible impression on your document.
I AM NEUTRAL IN ALL TRANSACTIONS: I am not there to push you to sign your documents, nor to dissuade you from signing your documents, nor render advice or opinions. I am an independent contractor. I am not directly employed by any title company, financial institution, or attorney. If you have specific questions about your documents which I cannot lawfully answer, you must contact your attorney (or your lender or title company, if it is a real estate or loan transaction). I do not offer advice or opinions (please do not ask) and I am not responsible for the content errors in your documents.
I am an independent contractor providing notary and document handling services. I am not a licensed attorney or real estate or financial professional. I am not authorized or permitted to provide any advice whatsoever on legal or real estate or financial matters or loan documents. Please do not ask the notary for legal or financial or personal advice, including how to fill out your documents or how to answer questions contained in your documents.

Washington State Law requires a NOTARIAL CERTIFICATE on your document. A notarial certificate is a written statement, signed and sealed by the notary public, certifying the facts of the NOTARIAL ACT.
The law prohibits notaries from choosing for you which certificate to use. If your document does not already contain notarial language, you must either instruct the notary which notarial act is required (see 1-6 below) or you can select and print the notarial certificate you require for your document.
CANCELLATION POLICY: After docs are printed but before notary travel begins, $25-50 PRINT FEE applies. After travel has begun, PRINT and NOTARY TRAVEL FEES apply. Cancellation during signing appointment, FULL FEE applies. All rates are quoted on a case by case basis depending on type of signing, number of pages, number of signers, number of notarizations, travel distance, special conditions (expedited service, non-standard hours, holidays, ferry travel) and document handling such as printing, conversion to PDF, tagging documents, mailing/tracking, courier/hand deliveries, and scanbacks.
